  • Report: Chelsea make big decision on Sancho's pursuit as Lampard's request looks improbable
  • Chelsea are reportedly resigned to losing the transfer battle for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho despite Frank Lampard’s request to club owner Roman Abramovich.

Spanish publication Sport claimed Lampard has asked Abramovich to prioritise Sancho’s signing for the summer.
However, the 20-year-old has been attracting several other top clubs.
And despite the £120million Chelsea have put on the table for Sancho, the report claimed Manchester United have made a quicker move to land the England international.
As Sancho’s move to Old Trafford is more likely, Chelsea have been forced to look for other options and turned their attention to Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho (on loan at Bayern Munich).
Chelsea already sealed a summer move for Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech who will provide options for Lampard’s next season alongside two young wingers Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
However, Lampard will likely lose two veteran Pedro and Willian as their respective contract expires this summer.
Lampard has often been forced to deploy Mason Mount on the flank this season as both Pulisic and Hudson-Odoi have been struggling with injuries.
Coutinho who netted eight goals and provided eight assists for Bayern Munich this season could be an option for the wide position, although he is naturally a number 10.
The publication recently reported Chelsea’s representatives have made contacts with Coutinho’s agent.
However, it is claimed Coutinho’s possible transfer to Stamford Bridge would take some time with the global pandemic situation at the moment.
